EarthFund update 10/31
Getting our website ready for a marketing push post-launch 🚀
With the platform getting closer and closer to launch, we’re making sure that we’re positioned perfectly to scale up as soon as the automated DAO wizard goes live.
👋 We’re EarthFund, the decentralized platform using blockchain, DAOs, and crypto to revolutionize the giving economy and give you more of a voice in the shape of tomorrow.
This is post #18 in our new weekly update on everything that happens behind the scenes at EarthFund’s (distributed) HQ.
Happy Halloween, Earthlings 🎃
Luckily, today’s update is anything but spooky!
The product team is working at incredible speed to debug, tweak and test the platform so that it can go live soon. (We’re aiming for a soft launch at the end of this week for some final live testing and the full launch in the following weeks. 🚀)
Our leadership team is still hard at work taking meetings to secure an investment that lets us grow, scale and add new functionality to the platform.
Our marketing, strategy and development teams are working on a new website that really sells the platform as a product rather than an idea in development. With new landing pages, pricing pages and an “About Us” section, the whole site is designed to convert.
And finally, as well as our weekly sync-ups with the NeverAlone DAO and Carbon Commons DAO, we had some exciting calls last week with some big players in the Web3.0 and non-profit spaces who want to use EarthFund to launch their DAOs when the platform is live. (We can’t say any more just yet, but we’re all really excited.)
Oh! And NeverAlone are sending out more rewards this week to their community for funding the PTSD project. (And announcing another proposal for a different cause soon 👀)
In other words, everything is falling into place, we’re continuing to build that momentum we talked about last week, and we’re nearly at the finish line.
Making sure EarthFund is the most intuitive, easy-to-use DAO launchpad ever.
There isn’t really anything substantial to report about the testing, tweaking and bug-fixing of the platform. The team is still fixing little bugs, making sure everything works every time and QA-ing for super-smooth UX.
💡 Why focus on great UX if the platform already works?
There are thousands of Web3.0 apps and protocols out there. More than that, there are already a good handful of platforms out there that let people launch DAOs.
However, they’re not intuitive.
Like, at all.
We’ve tried them all and — to greater and lesser extents — they’re all a little intimidating and require varying degrees of understanding of the space and the tech.
For Web3.0’s current user base, that’s good enough. We all care enough about decentralization to figure these things out.
But for mass adoption, it’s not good enough.
Will a busy non-profit start a DAO and move to decentralized decision-making if it’s hard to do?
Will a philanthropist set up a DAO if it feels confusing and intimidating?
Will busy influencers or entrepreneurs set up a DAO as part of their philanthropic efforts if it requires manually setting up all the components on different sites?
Probably not.
But by bringing everything under one roof — from DAO launch to fundraising tools to an out-of-the-box smart contract that manages the rewards/grants split from every donation — we’re making it easy for anybody to launch a great-looking, intuitive DAO in under 5 minutes and have one place for their audience to visit to do everything (join their DAO, vote on projects, donate, claim rewards, propose projects, etc…).
When we think of EarthFund, we’re thinking of the Web2.0 success stories that came before.
Mailchimp, Squarespace, Hubspot… they all succeeded by creating powerful tools that brought everything under one roof and made it super simple for anybody to use email marketing, launch a website or manage their sales funnel.

Positioning EarthFund as the new home of doing good
While the team finishes getting the platform ready for launch, our strategy team has turned its attention to positioning EarthFund as the new home of doing good.
With EarthFund, positioning is an exciting challenge because we have three audiences that are separate but overlap:
Audience #1: DAO members and world-changers
This audience is made up of all the people who want to visit the website, find a DAO that speaks to them and get involved.
Now, a certain amount of the audience-building will be handled by the DAOs that launch using their own platforms, audiences, etc… to bring people to EarthFund. (That’s a huge part of our growth strategy.)
But we’re not stopping there. We’re taking this one step further with Airbnb-style functionality that lets people see all of the DAOs on the platform, filter by the categories they’re interested in and see some of the projects that are fundraising. This will encourage users to look around, dip their toes and get involved in decentralized communities, possibly for the first time!
We’ve also created a new How it Works page to walk new users through the process of finding and joining a DAO to make sure they’re comfortable buying governance tokens and getting involved.
Plus, with these new pages, donors can also easily find DAOs they want to support and donate to.
And speaking of donors 👇
Audience #2: Donors
Crypto donations are a core part of the EarthFund platform. (On top of giving DAOs the funds they need to make a difference, they also power the rewards mechanism)
That means we can’t stop at making it easy for donors to find DAOs to donate to, we also need to highlight why making donations through EarthFund is better than say donating fiat or donating directly to individual projects.
So, we’re building out a ton of messaging and information around donation, starting with an improved landing page and moving out into Medium articles, marketing material and outreach in the media to promote donating crypto to DAOs on our platform.
Audience #3: DAO founders
We’ve already talked at length in other posts about how we want EarthFund to become the go-to platform for anybody to launch a DAO, regardless of their technical ability.
But not everybody reads our Twitter feed or checks our Medium updates, so we’re building landing pages that explain all the cool features, functionality and tools we’ve created to make it easy to launch and run an impact DAO that makes the world a better place.
On those pages, we’ll explain:
- Why they should start a DAO
- How the grant and rewards contract works
- The safeguards we’ve created for safer Web3.0 (lots of hesitation to launch a DAO comes from concerns around safety, so the KYC process, etc… is a HUGE piece of this puzzle)
- The role of the EarthFund DAO
- How we keep their communities safe
- All about the private, token-holder-only Discord channels
- Everything they get out of the box when they launch a DAO
- The team behind EarthFund (and their achievements) to build trust
- Transparent pricing that shows them they can launch for free or get a support package while they find their feet
We’ve also added an FAQ page, a page showing press coverage and an improved “About Us” page too 🙌
TLDR: EarthFund is becoming a Web3.0 SaaS offering
The new website isn’t just a lick of paint, it’s a complete repositioning of EarthFund from an idea in the making to a real usable product that people can trust, understand immediately and use to change the world.
Even better, we’re now in a position where our strategy team — who have helped grow and launch SaaS and Web3.0 giants like Facebook, Ripple and Discord — can focus on growing EarthFund’s user base.
The real beauty of our automated DAO setup and simple user journeys is that there are virtually no barriers to entry or limitations on growth.
The more founders and DAO members we can bring to the site and convert, the faster we’re going to grow.
We’re all very excited and can’t wait to have the whole community with us as we take our first steps out of the Build chapter and enter the Growth chapter of EarthFund.
Let’s go! 🚀
How can you help? Help us spread the word
- Leave a positive comment on KuCoin’s new comment functionality (something genuine rather than hype-y would be even better)
- Follow us on Twitter and give our posts a like/retweet → this would be huge for us. Our Twitter profile is key to spreading the word beyond crypto and into the kind of spaces where future DAO members (and maybe even founders) hang out.
- Join our Telegram community (if you’re not a member already)
- Talk about EarthFund in EarthFund-adjacent spaces (maybe mental health communities or carbon/climate change communities on Twitter)
- Tweet about EarthFund or interact with us on social media (got to feed those social media algorithms!)
- Ask us questions — we’re always available to answer questions in Telegram. (And if our community team doesn’t have the answers, we’ll get them for you.)
- Leave a positive comment and bullish rating on CoinMarketCap
- Like 1Earth on CoinGecko
Until next week, a massive thanks for being part of this journey with us!
Let’s build a better tomorrow, together.
